This blog addresses Teachers of English (ΠΕ06) in Primary as well as Secondary Education, employed by the Ministry of Education in Greece.
Its overall purpose is to familiarize teachers with the concept of Virtual Worlds and certain aspects of its usage.
More specifically, this course will enable educators:
To define Virtual Worlds and identify fields in which they can be applied
To discover various ways through which Virtual Worlds can be utilized in Open and Distant Learning
To examine the implementation of Second Life when teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and describe potential risks Virtual Worlds might entail for young learners
